We are loving summer indeed. With warm days and sunshine a rare commodity in this part of the world, we are enjoying every chance we can get, even if it means sweltering in a 30 degrees Celcius heat. This post is part of this week’s Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge, but also to mark the beginning of our annual summer sailing in the Netherlands where we get to spend the next 2 weeks wandering around the Dutch water with our trusted boat, hoping that the good weather holds.
The Dutch waters truly come alive in the summer, with boats of all shapes and sizes taking to the water. Far from being only the plaything of the rich, you meet all kinds of people sailing in the Netherlands, mostly regular families with small children (even infants), but also pensioners, summer camp children on a trip, hardened professional sailors, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot the royal family going about on their own boat.
