Weekly Photo Challenge: Monument – Valletta, Malta


This week’s theme for The Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge is Monument.

Browsing through all of our travel photographs, I realised that we don’t have many pictures of monuments, and I was struggling to find one. I suppose we don’t usually go after monuments, or maybe we’re just more fascinated with nature. But I did find one. This is a neoclassical monument to the first British Governor to Malta, Alexander Ball, built in the late 1700s. It sits in the lush Lower Barrakka Gardens of Valletta, the capital of Malta.
